Welcome to the Nook!
One of my many favorite past times is reading children's picture books. I really enjoy the quirky stories and the funny way characters are represented. I also love the twists at the end.
The illustrations are what lure me in. It is the creativity of the artists that bring the characters to life.
Each week I will feature a favorite picture book and write a review. If you like the review and want to buy the book click on the link to Amazon.
Happy Reading!!

This months featured guest on the Nook is Mayra Calvani. She is a published author of children and adult books as well as a fellow blogger. Mayra has a wonderful new book out called "Humberto The Bookworm Hamster". The colorful illustrations were done by Kit Grady. Please enjoy the review below. And don't forget to check out Mayra's links and website. Remember to always check out the sidebar I Recommend to purchase books from Amazon. Enjoy!
Humberto is an antisocial little hamster, he’s totally addicted to books! His neighbors, the squirrel, the rabbit, the skunk, the hedgehog and the beaver want to become his friends, but Humberto doesn’t have time for them. He’s too busy reading! Then one day, disaster strikes and he must choose between saving his books and helping his soon-to-be friends.
