Bob is a daydreamer like most kids his age. He lives on an island and his friends are a bird named Xena, a dolphin named Al and a turtle named Doc. Living on the island was nice, but Bob wondered if this was all there was to his life. He just wasn't content.

Bob wanted to learn more. He wanted to do more with his life. He decided to go on a quest. He wanted to find out from the sea creatures what he could do to find more joy and more happiness. He asked Al the dolphin what he should do and he suggested that he visit Doc, the wise old turtle.

So Bob summoned courage and asked the olde gent, “Please tell me how to be truly content?” Doc tipped his spectacles, gave bob a glance, adjusted his shell and re-buckled his pants. Then he said, “We've just met, but my instincts are sound, and the answer you seek is quite easily found.

Bob thought and smiled. He knew exactly what he wanted to do. He knew exactly what he wanted to be. He would dedicate his life to the sea. He would become a marine biologist.

Blue Ocean Bob is a wonderful rhyming quest for children. The beautiful illustrations open the door to the possibilities of marine life and what that entails. This is a great opportunity for parents and teachers to show children what it would be like to live in the sea. Kids could be introduced to sea life and create pictures of their favorite sea creatures. I highly recommend this book.

Tell us about your book(s) and illustrations.
The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob is a picture book series for pre-school children through readers in the early grades (K-4th grade).  It is a colorful series set on an island with friendly talking sea creatures. In Volume One, Blue Ocean Bob Discovers His Purpose, young Bob yearns for a greater sense of purpose.  Accompanied by his friend Xena, an overly cautious hummingbird, he sets out to ask the happy sea creatures to share their wisdom with him.  His quest leads him first to Al, a playful and spirited dolphin, and then to the local sage, an old turtle named ‘Doc,’ who finally helps Bob to realize his passion and discover his purpose – to protect the sea, and all life within it.

How long did it take you to get this idea to where it is now?
It has been a little over a year from when I had the idea for the series.

What will kids love most about your book(s)?
Toddlers will appreciate the colorful illustrations and enjoy listening to the rhyming stories while young readers will also absorb the subtle positive lessons that the stories reveal. Children will also appreciate the humor surrounding Doc, the wise sea turtle who draws out the lessons from his students.

What will parents and teachers love most about your book(s)?
These books are fun and inspiring for kids and they reveal powerful lessons for finding success and happiness on our journey through life. These books give children permission to pursue their passions and provide supportive principles and tools for fulfilling those dreams.

What's your next project?
I intend to begin work with my illustrator on Vol. 2, Blue Ocean Bob Develops a Vision, and work with a partner on digital Blue Ocean Bob apps for iPhone and iPad. I have nine more stories written, enough to keep me busy for a while.
