Book Review: Jake and the Never Land Pirates

Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Follow That Sound
Melinda La Rose

Do you want to turn your little readers into pirates? Jake and his friends are not your average thieves and robbers. They are polite and respectful, they will teach your little ones how to be that way too. But, first they must take the pirate pledge. Jake and his pals are up for another adventure. This time Cubby is practicing playing the harmonica for Marina's party later in the evening. Not far away, Captain Hook is being his normal crabby self and Smee talks him into taking a nap. But when the Captain rests in his hammock the noisy harmonica startles him awake. He snatches the harmonica right out of Skully's hand. Suddenly, a little monkey swinging from a tree takes the harmonica from Hook. And so, the adventure begins. The little pirates are on the chase through Never Jungle to retrieve their precious harmonica in time for the party. Disney shares another great story for kids. This story book is a spin off from the movie and has fun colorful pictures of the pirates and their beach environment. Kids will find pirate stickers and gold doubloons to add to their collection. Skully the parrot has fun jokes to share and they can be found on the corners of the pages. Parents will love turning the pages with their young readers who anxiously await a pirate adventure.
