Review:

We all know, as parents, that there is no easy way to raise a child. We aren't given a book and told what or how to study. So, what can be done? Parents today now have help. Here are 5 smart topics to help your child learn and grow. The Smart Playbook can help you get your kids get back to the basics of Social Skills, Mealtime Manners, the Art of Conversation, Restaurant Behavior and Technology Talk. This guide will help you help your child gain confidence, character and integrity.

Here is how it works:
This is a guide that contains a contract for your kids to sign. With each activity that is completed they will receive a ticket. With each ticket there is a reward that you, the parent, decide what it will be. Each of the 5 basic skills listed above is a section or chapter. For example: Chapter 2 is a Game Plan. This section covers Mealtime Manners. This is where your child can learn table setting, dinner prep, utensils and the like. There is a ticket goal, directions, equipment needed and a list of life skills. As your child navigates through the chapter they will see illustrations on what plate setting should be and what each utensil is used for. There are also Time Outs which offer humor to make sure your child is having fun. Another fun way to help your child stay motivated are Game Challenges, which ask questions about the activity to see if your child gets it. To make sure your child is not cheating there is a list of Rule Breakers, which identify what not to do. Practice sessions are a fun part of the learning process. These will help your child use common sense while learning. For example:

Choose DO or Don't. Complete this section and earn 10 tickets!
  1. Eat and drink at the same time.
  2. Chew with your mouth open
  3. Put elbows on the table.
There are lots of opportunities for your child to earn tickets. The more tickets they earn the higher the reward can be. This guide even has word search and crossword puzzles to help your child learn the vocabulary of the lesson. The answers are included at the end of each section. Tons of tickets and diagrams are also featured and will help keep those kids earning and learning.

This is a great guide for parents and children aged 7 to 12. The Smart Playbook was founded by a mom of three, with a possibly impossible mission: to offer families a simple and effective game plan to teach relevant life skills in a modern world. Families can work together, interact together and help each other achieve a common goal.

  1. I would like to win, The Smart Playbook. It would be a great summer activity for the kids and they would also learn 5 basic skills while having some fun. This is a great idea how to teach social manners to kids that are sometimes hard to when you have landed in a situation they have no clue as how to behave, or not to behave!
