Honey bees are a very
important part of our ecosystems. Without their pollination process we wouldn’t
be able to enjoy delicious fruits and vegetables like apples cucumbers,
blueberries, pumpkins and even tomatoes to name a few. In the hive, honey bees
have lots of work like cleaning out cells, feeding the queen and the larvae,
building replacement honeycombs, making nectar and guarding the entrance to the
hive.
National Geographic kids has
a great idea with their latest series of “Explore My World” books. Simple
structure with plenty of subject matter photos, young kids can become engaged
and learn by reading these simple sentences and also enjoy little bursts of fun
facts too. Readers will also find a few puzzles and other resources for
learning even more on their own. Parents and caregivers can use these little
guides for quiet time reading and expanding a child’s vocabulary.
