We are sharing books that share diversity for Multicultural Children's Book Day!
Multicultural Children’s Book Day 2017 (1/27/18) is in its 5th year and was founded by Valarie Budayr from Jump Into A Book and Mia Wenjen from PragmaticMom. Our mission is to raise awareness of the ongoing need to include kids’ books that celebrate diversity in home and school bookshelves while also working diligently to get more of these types of books into the hands of young readers, parents and educators.
This book was donated by this event from North South Books.

Review:
One little boy loves to
play futbol. He bounces and shuffles the ball from one foot to the other
through his village all the while shouting for his friends, in his Creole
language, to come and join him. The children gather around the field shooing
away the cows, so they can play. Unfortunately, the rain comes down to play
too. Splashing around in the muddy field it was still a great day. And into the
night they dream of playing futbol.
Author Baptiste Paul has
created a lively story of play where all kids are included. This fun story
features words in Creole inviting readers to learn the language. Short simple sentences
are fun and easy to read. Parents and teachers can use this as a guide to teach
language, culture and inclusivity.
