Review:
We all remember the story
of Goldie Locks and the Three Little Bears, right? Here is an interesting twist
of the story with a pinch of Pinocchio to go along with it.
There once was a little
girl named Curilocks. Her father sent her on a mission to deliver three pies to
three aunties. The pies looked and smelled delicious. Auntie Lizzie was to
receive a delicious sweet potato pie. Auntie Birdie would get a blackberry pie
and auntie Adele a savory chicken pot pie.
Along the way Curilocks couldn’t
resist taking a bite out of each pie right before she delivered it. Each time
before she took a bite she was warned against it by her magic hairbrush.
“Savory or sweet, the aunties love their treats; but
if you eat that pie, the aunties will ask you why.”
When asked by each auntie
what happened to their pies she would tell a lie. As a result her curly hair
grew bigger and bigger. Can you imagine what happened next?
Brightly colored pictures
bring this little tale to life. Young girls will have fun reading as this
character gets herself into trouble. But, there is a lesson to be learned and a
great way to teach family values.
