It was war time. Millie’s father worked all the time, and grandpa was away at war and times were hard. But each year at Christmas Millie’s grandmother would bring her very special Christmas Apron and the family would make their wish. This year, Millie was told that she would be the star ballerina in the Nutcracker for the next year. The only problem was, she didn’t have ballerina shoes and there was no hope she could get them in time. Her brother and sister would like their wishes to come true too. When Grandma arrived with the Christmas Apron, she shared the story of its beginnings. Millie and her siblings had hope. Knowing how important the wishes were to her family, Millie put her wish aside. On Christmas morning there was a surprise for all of the children. Did their Christmas wishes come true?
