Review:

What would you do if you were looking for some friends? One little bird, upon the arrival of spring, couldn’t remember his bird song which was used to call other friendly birds. Instead of his song the little bird made other noises. He barked like a dog and one came to visit. He oinked like a pig and one came to visit. This went on and on with sounds of a cat, goat and even a donkey. And they all came to visit. The little birds tree was full of friends but none were birds. It wasn’t until he heard a very strange sound that the little bird and the other animals thought was quite different. What do you think it was?

This charming read, perfect for spring, is a delightful tale of friendship. Young readers will enjoy making the animal sounds and beginner readers will find the simple sentences are easy to navigate. Parents and teachers will enjoy sharing this story with kids and can discuss how to make friends.
