Review:
Isabella and her friends,
Daniel, Lucy, Luis and Ali, like to play at school on the playground. When she
noticed her friend, Luis fell and hurt his knee Isabella said a prayer to God
to help heal him. She learned that day that not all of her friends share her
beliefs. Her friend Daniel is Jewish and practices Judaism. He doesn’t pray to
Jesus but does believe in God. Daniel’s dad shares with him and his friends
what it means to meditate in the practice of Buddhism and Hinduism. Ali shares
that he is Muslim and shares a special expression used to express peace. Since
Lucy and her family don’t believe in God she is starting to have a better
understanding of her friends beliefs.
There are many types of
religions around the world. Most see God as a spiritual being that is a higher
power. This story shares how children view religion and help them have a better
understanding of beliefs. Parents and teachers can share this gentle guide as a
way to discuss beliefs, religions and how they all share peace, hope and love.
Young readers will also learn how to keep an open mind.
