Review:
When spring began to warm
the earth and plants and trees, animals and insects began to explore after a
cold winter, one little seedling seemed to struggle. A lady bug, butterfly and
ant were there to watchover and encourage the little seedling to grow. As the
little plant grew it began to search for more sunlight. It grew and flourished
and so did its friends. As the seasons changed and winter returned, the friends
had to say goodbye until next spring.
This gentle story with its
colorful images of greens, browns, yellow and reds, takes young readers on the
journey of a plants life through the changing of the seasons. Parents, teachers
and caregivers can use this tool to discuss plants and the four seasons. A
great activity would be to have kids plant seeds of their own and watch them
grow.
