Cruz and his friend Lanie, who is now an explorer, are attempting to solve the next clue. Once they do they will find their next adventure will take them to Namibia on the west coast of Africa to find the piece of his mom’s cypher. Also, a part of this exploration was to protect gorillas in the Biwindi Impenetrable Forest from harm. There, the explorers would observe and learn about them. But for Cruz, the threat of Nebula has infiltrated the group and it becomes very clear when Bryndis becomes ill from a poison that was meant for Cruz. Once again, there are mysteries to be solved and the need to find another piece of the cypher.
In book five of the series the tension is building and readers are going to be turning the pages hoping for the best outcome. More riddles, puzzles and technologies will continue to engage readers. Readers will learn about gorillas and their habitats. Parents and teachers can use this series as a tool to get reluctant readers wanting to pick up a book.
