Review:
It was Bernard Jones’ twelfth birthday, and he was anxiously awaiting a gift from his grandpa who stayed on the west coast of Africa. Bernard was under the impression he was getting a motor scooter, which created a ruckus with his parents, which resulted in him being grounded. Later that night a package was delivered. When he opened the giant wooden crate from his grandpa, he discovered it wasn’t a scooter.
To
Bernard’s surprise the crate had an old chair with a set of instructions. He
soon discovered that it had magical powers and could take him anywhere in the
world that he imagined going. The chair had very strict rules that must be
followed or he would be left where he landed. Every place Bernard traveled he tried
to contact his grandfather but didn’t have much luck, so he decided to have the
chair take him to Africa to find him.
In Africa, Bernard learns that his grandfather has been kidnapped. The bad guys want the chair that is in his possession. Now Bernard must develop a plan to find and save his grandfather and get back to the chair and home before it’s too late.
