Healing poetry. That is what this spirited take on healing words for women is all about. There are five titled sections in this book, Sand, Clay, Broken Shards, Faux Repair, and Gold Repair. Each speaks to its title and the poems reflect life experiences that many women may be familiar with in their lives.
Hall’s section on Sand speaks to everyone and compares a women’s life to be either refined, being refined, or harmful. These words come from her poem titled “Dear Life” which is short and powerful. In her section titled Clay her poem “Granny’s Cultivation” speaks to how family can be shaped and prepared for the world while sitting at a table under the protection of love, prayers, and conversation.
